This is a stunning portrait of this horse. The amount of detail is a feast for the eyes, and the way the fur is laid is a study in attention paid to the forms. The colors laid in are perfect- beautiful shadows, lovely fly-away hairs and whiskers. A lovely, soft picture, even reflected in the softness of the background.

The only criticism I would offer- and I do see that this is how your style is in most of your other work, so I do realize that this might be just the way you 'do' things- however, in my humble opinion, I think your work would have more impact and stand out more if your shadows in your subject were darker, even closer to black at the very darkest points. The contrast would separate the background a bit more.

All in all, an extremely lovely pastel work, and I am very impressed with your handle of the shapes of a horse's face, the shape of the lips, everything is just amazing. Keep up the most wonderful work you do!
